My New Favorite Hiking Boot
Paid by Refinery 29 and KEEN
Arizona is a truly special place. My heart belongs with the dashing red rocks and prickly pear cacti. It's equally awesome as it is ironic to see how "trendy" the desert has become as of late, however. People travel across vast distances just to see what lies beyond the rolling hills of succulents and sage brushes. I'm honored to have had the privilege to explore many hidden crevasses of my home state -- there's so much to see / do! Much of it lies beyond the beaten path, too.
Its magnificent wonder is especially more intriguing for outdoor enthusiasts, such as myself. For the past five years, I’ve made it a duty of mine to explore nearly every corner of this desert landscape by foot. I’ve jumped off waterfalls, discovered flower fields, made friends with community members in the Indian nations, and so on. However, these places are often challenging to get to (…but, doesn’t that make it so much more fun?) My active, unpredictable lifestyle needs something that supports my routine and offers a little extra wiggle room for adventure.
The first time I tried on KEEN’s Terradora shoe, I was VERY impressed. Now — I don’t just say this about any product, mind you. I truly mean it. It’s such an honor to be working with KEEN’s new social campaign on their new line of hiking boot for fellow wild women. The Terradora boot is inspired by a brand new workout category: TrailFitTM – a bridge between the gym and the mountains, and the backcountry and city. It’s adventure fitness; the chance for women to get sweaty and clear the mind at the same time.
A few days ago, my best friends and I started our early afternoon swimming at the Salt River and ended our sunset in the open desert down South. We ate pretzels, took the dogs on walks through sage brushes, and laughed ‘till our tummies hurt. A couple of us veered off the beaten path from the rest of the group and took a walk along an abandoned canal. It’s times like these where I am so deeply grateful for a shoe that allows me to step anywhere I want to.
After all — some of the best places to find are only where your feet can take you.
So much love for this company. Check out the new boot on their website here: keenfootwear.com!
