Bryce Canyon National Park

30 Hours

Everyone needs friends in their lives that urge them to spontaneously drive 7 hours to a National Park. It was nothing more than a "hey, we're thinking about going to Bryce tomorrow -- you wanna join?" text that got me hooked.

I packed up my clothes and hit the road with my two babes, Eunice and Shelby. We caught Bryce at sunset on a beautiful Thursday afternoon and reached the Coral Pink Sand Dunes by sunrise on Friday morning.

I don't think I'll ever forget the sleepless night at a Church of Latter Day Saints' parking lot in Eunice's Prius. The three of us seemed to have forgot a bottle opener after we gleefully purchased a 6-pack of Angry Orchard in Knab, Utah. After smashing the side of a bottle on the side of a sidewalk and cutting open our dry hands, we spent 30 minutes attempting to pry open the cap with a key. Trying, trying, and then BOOM! The cap flew off. Thank god. We drank and laughed ourselves to sleep.

Such a beautiful, messy, unpredictable, and spontaneous 30 hours spent on the road with these love birds. I could always use more these trips.
